As most with a smart phone I often get news suggested to me from my device. More and more often I’ll hit a paywall when trying to read the full article. This, this, paywall fiasco is why so many people are more and more willing to trust unreliable sources these days. That’s all the _news_ they have reliable access to.
At first I thought, oh it’s not a big deal and will be good for Journalism when I saw more and more news organizations implementing a “free tier” which consisted of a fixed number of free articles over a rolling period. Now almost every single time I attempt to view a news article I’m hit with the complete inability to consume the information due to the organization’s uncaring attitude around flowing information.
